PART 490 - ALTERNATIVE FUEL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
subpart c - MANDATORY STATE FLEET PROGRAM
490.202 - Acquisitions satisfying the mandate.
The following actions within a model year qualify as acquisitions for the purpose of compliance with the requirements of section 490.201 of this part: (a) The purchase or lease of an Original Equipment Manufacturer light duty vehicle (regardless of the model year of manufacture), capable of operating on alternative fuels that was not previously under control of the State or State agency; (b) The purchase or lease of an after-market converted light duty vehicle (regardless of model year of manufacture), that was not previously under control of the State or State agency; (c) The conversion of a newly purchased or leased light duty vehicle to operate on alternative fuels within four months after the vehicle is acquired for a State fleet; and (d) The application of alternative fueled vehicle credits allocated under subpart F of this part.
