subpart g - ALLOCATION OF FUNDS; REPORTS
300.717 - Outlying areas and freely associated States.
From the amount appropriated for any fiscal year under section 611(j) of the Act, the Secretary reserves not more than one percent, which must be used (a) To provide assistance to the outlying areas in accordance with their respective populations of individuals aged 3 through 21; and (b) For fiscal years 1998 through 2001, to carry out the competition described in 300.719, except that the amount reserved to carry out that competition may not exceed the amount reserved for fiscal year 1996 for the competition under Part B of the Act described under the heading SPECIAL EDUCATION in Public Law 104134.
