PART 117 - DRAWBRIDGE OPERATION REGULATIONS

subpart b - SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

117.843 - Trent River.

  (a) The draw of the U.S. 70 bridge, mile 0.0, at New Bern: (1) Need not open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for pleasure vessels. However, the draw shall open at 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for any vessel waiting to pass.

  (2) Need not open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from May 24 through September 8, on Sundays and Federal holidays, for pleasure vessels.

However, the draw shall open at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for any vessel waiting to pass.

  (3) Shall always open on signal for public vessels of the United States, State or local vessels used for public safety, tugs with tows, and vessels in distress.

  (4) Shall open on signal at all other times.

  (b) The draws of the Seaboard System Railroad bridge, mile 18.0 near Pollocksville, need not be opened for the passage of vessels.
