1.121 - Penalties.The criminal penalties which have been established for violations of the Privacy Act of 1974 are set forth in 5 U.S.C. 552a(i). These penalties are applicable to any officer or employee of an agency who commits any of the acts enumerated in 5 U.S.C. 552a(i). These penalties also apply to contractors and employees of such contractors who enter into contracts with an agency of USDA and who are considered to be employees of the agency within the meaning of 5 U.S.C. 552a(m)(1).
